How I lost 25kg in 6 months - without hunger or excessive exercise
I am so passionate and convinced about the paleo way of life - because I know it works!
After I gave birth to my second child I was the heaviest I had ever been. I felt tired, washed out, cranky and overwhelmed with the most basic activities. My whole life felt hard.
At that point, I had tried every diet I had heard of. I had fasted for weeks, which gave me instant results, but then the weight would always come back with a vengeance. After three starving ventures, I crept up in dress sizes. It was clearly not working.
I tried a whole bunch of calorie restrictive diets that were so unrealistic in upkeep that they only made me feel like I lacked willpower and discipline. Resulting in a downward spiral of despair. The weight had slowly but surely increased with every diet I tried, and on top of that, I had simply given up trying to battle my cellulite. At that point I was so down, I thought I had to live with my saddlebags and depressive state of mind. I thought this is it, accept it.
But then a Christmas present changed everything - a book that advocated the paleo way off life. The more I learned the more it made sense. The research was so obvious! I got stuck into diving deeper into the science behind the paleo diet, and soon was a convinced paleo supporter. I began my paleo nutritionist diploma course with the center of excellence and am now a health coach supporting anyone who would like a little help getting started with the paleo diet.
Where did I start I began by cutting out all types sugar - After three weeks I had lost the niggly cravings and moved onto removing grains, dairy, and refined seed oils from my diet.
Soon I was exercising 5 times a week, simply through having excess energy. I felt my mood improve and things got easier. Everything fell into place and my days began to flow rather than be a constant battle. I began to embrace more and more of the paleo lifestyle pillars wich include deep sleep, being in touch with nature, stress management and a good dose of play!
The weight fell off and stayed off!
I now live a healthy sustainable 80/20 Paleo lifestyle. I'm focused and onto it about 80% of the time - leaving 20% for a casual wine or some treats when dining out with friends.
