Do you feel uninspired?

You read the quotes every day in your Facebook feed... be happy, show gratitude, be this, be that..... but you just can't get your mind to function that way. You are tired, stressed out, and every little bit extra sends you over the edge.

Here are some suggestions on how to take baby steps that will slowly but surely take you to an inspiring, balanced happy life.

DIET 'You are what you eat'. That applies to every living being, this includes you. What you put in your mouth is your choice, you have the control. Embrace it!

You know what a triple chocolate layer cake makes you feel like, it's great for the first five minutes and then it leaves you feeling dirty and alone. Like an abusive boyfriend. Unfortunately unlike the boyfriend, sugar has highly addictive properties due to a dopamine release, which makes you come back for more, with the same tragic end result. Sugar is found in nearly all processed foods. Even bacon, mustard, tomato pastes etc. It has been added to nearly every convenience food. So read the labels carefully and be sure to eliminate all types of sugar, You can learn more about this here.

So it's time to kick sugar to the curb. It is your first step to regaining freedom and control of what you eat. It will take about 3 weeks to fully feel free from sugars addictive properties. The Paleo diet offers nutrient rich foods (read more about this here) that give your body what it needs. Once you begin eating paleo your satire feeling will return to normal, your digestion will regulate your skin will clear up and you will feel alive and brilliant. So many people have no Idea how good their body is meant to feel. The best way to find out is to give the paleo diet a go, you can read all about what is paleo here.

DO WHAT YOU LOVE, LOVE WHAT YOU DO What you do every day is important, and it should feel that way. Finding a passion gives purpose which in return gives satisfaction. I have written about this before in; ‘Dont be a hater…how to love your job’. What drives you out of bed every morning? Some find this in their career, but what if you haven't reached that stage in your career yet? You might say that you have hobbies and a vibrant social life, but sometimes your Wednesday night basketball game just doesn't hit the spot. I am talking about a hobby with a purpose, something that gives you back more than common ground with other enthusiasts. My personal experience is charity. Doing good for others for free gives me a sense of purpose. The spectrum of charity can reach further than feeding the homeless. Take a moment to ponder how you could help your community. Whatever it is it will guarantee make you feel great.

EXERCISE move your body so it breaks a sweat at least once a day. It doesn't really matter how you do it, but get the heart pumping and the lymphatic system working. There is no need to do 3 hours at the gym. A simple 8-minute high-intensity training session will do the trick. Once you build up strength and fitness you will naturally want to do more. Just let it happen organically. But for starters give your body at least 8 minutes of intense movement per day. Here is a great no equipment needed example.

SLEEP DEEP Modern technology has us hooked. We are constantly checking-in to our online world. For many this has become the wind-down routine just before sleeping. The trouble is that the screens emit a blue type of light that signals our body to get up and go. Research has demonstrated that nighttime light exposure suppresses the production of melatonin, the major hormone secreted by the pineal gland that controls sleep and wake cycles. Therefore, a reduction in melatonin at night is associated with levels of sleeplessness. To sleep deep, you need to switch the screens off. All of them. Instead of TV read the book you got from your uncle for Christmas, or finally finish the craft activity you started on an enthusiastic Sunday afternoon. The point is, you need to wind down without being wound up by the blue light. Try to be screen free for at least 1 hour before bedtime. Once in bed make sure your room is dark and no electrical gadgets can wake you during the night. You will soon see that your sleep patterns regulate, and you will wake up energetic before the first snooze alarm.

GO OUTSIDE It's called nature bathing and its one of the most effective ways to regulate stress. When was the last time you took a walk outside? away from the road, the city, the noise. Try to incorporate at least one designated hour per week that is reserved for you and nature. Take the family, the dog, your best mate or all. A single date with nature can make a huge difference, and soon it will automatically become a joyful habit.

Once you have begun incorporating a few of the tips into your life, you will start to feel a change. And soon you won't ever want to go back!
